What to Expect on Your First Visit
Intake Forms
Upon entering our office, our hostess will welcome you. If you have already filled out your intake form, your wait will be very short. If you have not yet filled out your forms, no worries, just arrive about 15 minutes early for your appointment time. This paperwork provides us with your health history and information on your health status and condition.
Consultation
Next, you will have an initial consultation to discuss your health-related concerns, problems and health goals. This initial visit is specifically designed by the doctor to learn more about you, your condition, and expectations to determine how our natural therapies and chiropractic care can meet your goals.
Examination
After your consultation, we will perform an evaluation that may include neurological testing, a spinal health assessment with testing to see your posture, spinal motion and flexibility and if any problems in your nerve system are affecting your symptoms of pain or other health conditions.
Digital X-Ray Studies
Depending on your specific condition, we may take digital X-rays if they are indicated. The digital X-rays are extremely low-exposure compared to older ‘film’ techniques and help us develop the most effective care plan for you, and alert us of any serious spinal conditions. They will help us to identify and specific mechanical or structural disturbances or osteoarthritis that may be contributing to your problem.
Report of Findings
We pride ourselves in being very thorough. Your health is the most important thing in your life and we take it very seriously. If your condition requires Chiropractic care, we usually reserve your first adjustment in our office for a follow up visit. This helps us to properly evaluate the findings from your exam. You will be scheduled for a return appointment at which time we will show you the findings as well as give you our best recommendations and an adjustment. Sometimes this can happen as early as the same day.
What Next?
You will leave your first visit in our office with a great deal of information about why you have developed the symptoms of pain that you have. The information you will receive will likely include a 17 page printout of the results of your spinal health assessment. Each successive visit, you will be given information relevant to your care so that you can regain the quality of life that you desire.
